Description

Remarks :
The Hunter Ranger 245 is a well-regarded British-built pocket cruiser designed by David Thomas, combining easy handling with surprisingly spacious accommodation. Built with twin bilge keels and a shallow draft, the Ranger 245 is equally at home exploring drying harbours, coastal waters, and inland cruising grounds. Its forgiving sailing characteristics, self-tacking headsail options, and all-lines-aft cockpit layout make it particularly attractive to short-handed crews, couples, and family sailors moving up from smaller yachts.

Despite its compact 24’6” length overall, the Hunter 245 offers excellent interior volume with up to six berths, generous standing headroom, a practical galley, and a separate heads compartment. Owners consistently praise the yacht’s versatility, economical running costs, and confidence-inspiring manners under both sail and power. The bilge keel configuration allows the boat to safely take the ground — a major advantage for UK tidal cruising and affordable moorings.

Under sail, the Ranger 245 delivers solid cruising performance with responsive handling and good stability for a yacht of this size. The fractional sloop rig and moderate displacement provide a comfortable balance between ease of use and seaworthiness, making the boat suitable for coastal passages, weekend cruising, and club racing alike. The model later evolved into the Hunter Channel 245, reflecting the enduring popularity of the design.

The Hunter 245 will sleep 6 has a practical galley and separate heads. 'Tamara' has been well-maintained and is in good condition.

Hunter Ranger 245 represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a capable, versatile, and economical cruising yacht with a loyal following and proven reputation in UK waters.
