“I had originally intended to buy an Xc 45, but after spending time sailing the Xc 38 I changed my mind. I wanted a yacht that I could comfortably manage solo, single-handed or short-handed, while still having the space, comfort and capability for extended cruising. The Xc 38 has proved to be exactly that. She is fast, stable, exceptionally capable and remarkably easy to handle, whether sailing single-handed, short-handed or with family and friends. At anchor and in harbour she is a home from home, with everything needed for extended periods aboard without the additional complexity of a significantly larger yacht. The Xc 38 is, for me, the perfect balance between size, comfort, performance and manageability. Elixir’s shoal keel has also been a real advantage, drawing just 1.68m and opening up anchorages and harbours that would otherwise be unavailable.Elixir has taken me on extensive cruising adventures and has always inspired enormous confidence. She is equally suited to serious passage-making, relaxed coastal cruising and comfortable time aboard.”
