Very beautiful integral derivative, built in aluminum, the reference material for travelers concerned about the strength of their boat, the SALT 47 is the successor to the dynasty of Passoa 47, the essential icon of the French shipyard: GARCIA.

This is the one and only Salt at 47 feet built at the Norman shipyard of the Garcia brothers, in Condé Sur Noireau. Little brother of the Salt 57, it adopts a more modern roof than that of the Passoa 47.

This robust construction came out of our shipyards in 2007. It will be perfectly suitable for a program of warm as well as cold seas. In a superb version with 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms, this monohull is in a rare state of preservation and maintenance.

The Passoa 47 was designed by Phillipe Harle, and has been built exclusively by Garcia since the mid 1980s. She has a centerboard amidships and daggerboard aft, ahead of the rudder, and so can be adjusted for exceptional balance on all points of sail. Normally cutter-rigged, she is available with self-tending jib if desired, or may be sloop-rigged. The layout can accommodate three double cabins comfortably, and some have been built with four when long voyages are not envisaged. Like most boats we build, the Passoa 47 is classified as Class 1 by the French Marine inspectorate. This defines a boat as being suitable for sailing worldwide, and requires strong structure and seafaring features, such as having a main hatch located above the low point on the cockpit coaming, proper separation of tanks, and many other details. The complete structure is heavily reinforced, and includes integral fuel & water tanks, ballast and all non-mechanical deck fittings that can reasonably be fabricated in aluminum. The bottom is 10 mm plate (3-8"), heavily reinforced, with progressively lighter plate higher up in the hull. The standard rig is quite conservative. Sail area can readily be increased by specifying a higher mast, provided that in-mast furling is not required
