ONE OF ONLY THREE WHEELHOUSE MODELS | SONNY LEVI DEEP-V DESIGN | CONTINUOUSLY UPGRADED
SOLD BY NICOLLE ASSOCIATES TO BOTH CURRENT & PREVIOUS OWNERS
Few classic performance powerboats attract the admiration reserved for a genuine Sonny Levi design. The Triana Tantarella 35 combines Renato "Sonny" Levi's legendary deep-V hull with elegant Italian-inspired styling to produce one of the finest offshore sports cruisers of her era. Capable of covering ground quickly whilst remaining remarkably comfortable in challenging sea conditions, the Tantarella has become one of the true icons of 1970s performance boat design.
Built by Triana Boats of Wimborne in 1974, WAHOO is believed to be one of only three wheelhouse versions ever produced, making her an exceptionally rare example of this sought-after model.
Rather than simply preserving her as a museum piece, successive owners have invested thoughtfully to ensure she remains a genuinely practical cruising boat whilst retaining all of the character that made the design famous.
During the current ownership alone she has benefited from significant mechanical and cosmetic investment including replacement or refurbishment of the propeller shafts, stern glands and intercoolers, replacement bilge pumps, new gas installation and certification, refurbishment of the cockpit enclosure with new windows and zips, replacement engine cooling fans, holding tank sensors and pipework, new freshwater pressure pump, replacement domestic and bow thruster batteries together with continual routine maintenance.
More recently she has undergone professional polishing and waxing of the topsides together with fresh antifouling (December 2025), followed by annual servicing, recommissioning and engine checks in March 2026, including engine and transmission oil changes, filters and shaft anodes.
Powered by the uprated twin Ford Sabre 275hp diesel engines, she offers dependable performance, excellent offshore capability and the unmistakable handling characteristics for which Sonny Levi designs are renowned.
Whether viewed as an appreciating classic, an exciting weekend cruiser or a highly usable collector's boat, WAHOO represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest surviving examples of the Triana Tantarella 35.
