A visionary catamaran, designed for long-distance cruising

This Dean 440 embodies a rare philosophy: to offer a generous living space and a protected, friendly cockpit, without ever sacrificing performance. Designed and built before the era of industrialized assembly lines, it bears the mark of authentic craftsmanship — meticulous woodworking, rigorously designed electrical circuits, finishes that have stood the test of time. Its slender hulls, a signature of this pioneering design, give it a glide and sea-keeping ability that few livable catamarans of its generation can claim.

Sold with exemplary mechanical and technical maintenance (engines replaced in 2024 and 2025, electrical system redone, recent windlass and pumps), this boat is ready to set off on a cruise.

Motorization: 2 x Vetus M4-45 (42 hp) — starboard engine replaced in 2024, port engine replaced in 2025.

Capacities: 600 L of fuel, 2 x 300 L of fresh water.

Interior layout

The saloon offers a fully equipped kitchen, a dedicated chart table for navigation, and a large lounge with a friendly dining table. An office and multiple storage spaces are distributed throughout the hulls.

4 double cabins:

3 bathrooms with shower and toilet each (a 4th water room is set up as a laundry room).

The cockpit, protected by a plexiglass windscreen and a rigid bimini top, features a table for 6 people around the steering wheel — a fully-fledged outdoor living space, characteristic of the pioneering spirit of this model.
