Apollo is a 2022 Windelo 54 Yachting, built and specified from new for her original owners and delivered in March 2022. She is now lying at the Windelo yard in Canet-en-Roussillon — where she can be viewed alongside current production boats, and where the people who built her know every system aboard.

The Windelo range of 50-54 multihulls has won serious recognition in the performance bluewater cruising market for the eco-build, electric hybrid propulsion and self-sustained usage, as well as the exceptional forward cockpit. Cruising World’s Boat of the Year Sail Magazine’s ten best boats, Special Prize from European Yacht of the Year for Sustainability. Apollo showcased all these assets early on, there are multiple online resources starring her, not least a video by Nautistyles.

The Design Ethos. A basalt and recycled-PET eco-composite catamaran with twin electric drives, dual 48V lithium banks and 3,300W of solar — a genuinely self-sufficient boat that runs silent at anchor and doesn’t need a fuel dock or shore power to live aboard. Daggerboards give her upwind performance closer to a fast monohull than a cruising cat. With the Hydranet main, Code 0 and gennaker she will sail in four knots of true wind, and hold boat speed to wind speed up to around ten knots. All the lines led to the forward cockpit conveniently located upon the centre of gravity makes for safe, easy and comfortable passage-making.

Layout. Apollo was configured from new with four cabins plus an optional forepeak cabin and locked storage space — a deliberate choice for flexibility, allowing larger family hosting and occasional professionally skippered charter. Ideal for a liveaboard couple with lots of storage requirements, for a family or for anyone who cruises with guests, Apollo is what you’ve been looking for. The location in Canet and relationship with the builder also means that some upgrades and customisation will be on offer to suit your cruising needs.

Her history. Apollo has been based in the western Mediterranean from new. In her first year she combined mostly owner trips with very occasional professionally skippered charters; since then she has been sailed by her owners only. She has only been used for Mediterranean cruising rather than long-distance ocean passages. She was completely serviced by Windelo in 2024 and has been maintained to a high standard throughout.

The current owners family circumstances and hence cruising plans have significantly changed, hence putting her up for sale. With a full Windelo spares kit aboard, Apollo is ready to head off with you right away on your next Mediterranean season or Atlantic crossing and beyond.
