OPEN 50

A thoroughbred of offshore racing, ready for new ocean adventures.

A rare pedigree — over 30 years of ocean miles in her hull !

KONG is not just another Open 50. She is a yacht with a genuine history, built mile after mile over three decades in some of the most demanding waters on the planet — from the Caribbean to the Southern Ocean, from the North Atlantic to Cape Horn.

Designed by the Mortain-Mavrikios design office and built in 1994 at the Multicap yard in Martinique, this racing monohull was conceived from the outset for endurance and performance sailed short-handed or single-handed — the very DNA of the Open 50 class, a direct cousin of the IMOCA.

A racing career that speaks for itself

Under her former name TOP 50, the yacht built a solid palmarès and considerable offshore mileage:

An exceptional skipper at the helm since 2022

Under his stewardship, KONG was prepared and campaigned for the Global Solo Challenge — the non-stop solo round-the-world race via the three Great Capes — lining up alongside some of the toughest Open 50s and Open 60s in the fleet.

This pairing of a yacht built for the high seas with a skipper of exceptional pedigree stands as further proof, if any were needed, of KONG's capability to take on any ocean on the globe.

Why choose KONG?

Who is KONG for?

This yacht is for sailors seeking far more than a hull: a project with soul, a history, and untapped potential for the next horizon — whether that's an upcoming offshore race, a solo circumnavigation, or a life spent on the open ocean.
