OYSTER 56 RAGAMUFFIN – EXTENSIVELY REFITTED FOR SERIOUS BLUEWATER CRUISINGRagamuffin is an exceptionally well-equipped Oyster 56 that has benefited from substantial investment in the systems that matter most to serious long-distance sailors.Rather than simply receiving cosmetic refurbishment, she has been progressively modernised for reliability, autonomy, and comfortable short-handed cruising, including a major technical refit in 2022, followed by continuous preventive maintenance through 2024–2026.Highlights include a four-battery MG lithium power bank with sophisticated Victron Quattro inverter/charging system, replacement Kohler generator with approximately 90 hours, standing rigging replaced in 2022 and inspected again in 2025, modern Raymarine Axiom navigation equipment, solar charging, 120 l/h watermaker, Webasto heating, air conditioning, hydraulic furling, multiple electric winches and a 2023 Code 0.Her teak decks were renewed during the previous major refit, while the Perkins/Sabre engine has received comprehensive preventative maintenance including recent professional servicing of the fuel injection pump.Below deck, Ragamuffin retains the beautifully crafted teak joinery for which Oyster yachts of this generation are particularly admired, providing a warm and substantial interior ideally suited to extended living aboard. For a buyer looking for an Oyster 56 already equipped with modern electrical generation, energy storage, navigation and offshore cruising systems, Ragamuffin represents an opportunity to avoid many of the major upgrades commonly required on yachts of this generation.
