DescriptionExceptional and exquisite An exceptional example with complete provenance, continuous improvement and known ownership history since new.
ARAMIS is a wonderful example of the highly regarded Swordsman 37 and enjoys a provenance that is unlikely to be repeated.
Commissioned and originally owned by the founder of Nicolle Associates, she has since passed through the hands of just three subsequent owners including: a prominent superyacht owner; and two aircraft engineers; all of whom have maintained and improved her to exceptionally high standards. Remarkably, every change of ownership since launch has been handled by Nicolle Associates, providing an unusually complete and well-documented ownership history.
Throughout her twenty-five year life, ARAMIS has benefited from continuous maintenance, sympathetic upgrading and meticulous care, resulting in what is undoubtedly one of the finest GRP classic motor yachts of her type available today.
Designed by the late Alan Burnard , whose Fairey Marine heritage is evident throughout the design, the Swordsman 37 successfully combines timeless British motor yacht styling with exceptional sea-keeping, practical cruising capability and beautifully crafted accommodation.
Unlike many classic motor yachts, ARAMIS has never suffered from deferred maintenance. Instead, every owner has continued a programme of careful improvement, ensuring she remains both mechanically and cosmetically exceptional.
Recent investment includes:
- Raymarine Quantum Radar
- Replacement cutlass bearings and both shaft seals
- Premium mattress and curtains
- New calorifier
- Torqeedo Travel 1103 CS electric outboard
- 32" TV/DVD/Soundbar
- Bespoke extended cockpit canopy enclosure
- Replacement saloon seating
- Replacement upper helm seating
- Upgraded navigation, masthead and mooring lights
- Freshwater filtration system
- New freshwater pump
- Replacement rear window
- Continuous annual mechanical servicing.
Most recently, in May 2026, ARAMIS received her annual antifoul, new anodes, full engine and gearbox service together with replacement of the starboard shaft seal followed by the port shaft seal in October.
In June 2026, all four service batteries were replaced as a preventative measure, further demonstrating the owners' commitment to maintaining the vessel to the highest possible standard.
Lovingly maintained by every owner since launch, ARAMIS represents a rare opportunity to acquire a genuinely distinguished and exceptionally well-cared-for example of this sought-after British classic.
CURRENT OWNER'S COMMENTS
"ARAMIS has been a much-loved member of our family and has given us many wonderful years of enjoyment.
What attracted us to her was not only the timeless Swordsman styling and exceptional sea-keeping qualities, but also the evident care and attention she had received throughout her life.
We have continued that tradition of ownership, investing in her comfort, appearance and mechanical condition whenever required rather than simply maintaining her. Recent improvements include the extended cockpit enclosure, replacement interior and exterior seating, freshwater filtration system, upgraded lighting, preventative battery replacement and numerous mechanical improvements.
She remains a beautifully balanced cruising boat; equally comfortable pottering along the coast, entertaining guests in harbour or undertaking longer passages.
We are also including a comprehensive inventory of quality cruising equipment with the sale, allowing her next owners to step aboard and begin enjoying her immediately.
We hope her next owners will enjoy ARAMIS as much as we have."
FIRST OWNER'S COMMENTS
There are some boats that stay with you long after ownership ends and ARAMIS is one of them.
Having commissioned and owned her from new, it has been a genuine pleasure to watch each successive owner continue the same philosophy of careful stewardship. Rather than suffering the deferred maintenance that affects so many boats of this age, ARAMIS has benefited from owners who understood quality, appreciated good engineering and were prepared to invest in preserving her.
The result today is something genuinely unusual—a twenty-five year old motor yacht that feels cherished rather than simply maintained. Her presentation, engineering spaces, joinery, systems and overall condition reflect an ownership history that would be extremely difficult to replicate.
Perhaps even more remarkably, every change of ownership since launch has been handled by Nicolle Associates. That continuity provides a level of knowledge, provenance and confidence rarely available when purchasing a yacht of this age.
For buyers seeking a classic British motor yacht with pedigree, provenance and exceptional upkeep, ARAMIS deserves very serious consideration.
Finding a twenty-five-year old motor yacht in excellent condition is not unusual. Finding one whose ownership, maintenance and improvement history is known from new is exceptionally rare.
