DescriptionThe Shropshire Star is a 42-seater passenger trip boat which has operated from Norbury Wharf Limited for fifteen years. She is now reluctantly offered for sale. She is a 70 foot all steel narrow boat built by Les Allen in 1972. She is powered by a 42hp Isuzu marine diesel engine located in its own engine room at the rear of the boat. This engine has been serviced every 250 hours. Access into the main passenger cabin is by a pair of side doors with lift up lid on each side of the boat. A set of steps take you down into the cabin space. Seating is provided on a selection of 4-seater and 2-seater tables to both the front and rear of the cabin. Male and Female toilets are located at the rear of the cabin. A bar area is located adjacent to the entrance steps. PA system throughout. The Shropshire Star had a full repaint in December 2024 and new windows installed which were manufactured by Channelglaze. She has been dry docked and blacked annually for the last fifteen years and any work that has been required has been completed. This boat is fully certificated with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and will only need a new DSM completed for operation in a new area. A copy of the existing DSM will be provided with the sale. A new heel test was completed in December 2025 and a hull survey completed in April 2026 showing the hull to be in excellent condition – this boat has never been over plated! A new tail shaft was fitted at the same time with the Python drive being replaced in 2023. A new automated fire detection and suppression system was installed in 2025. All documents can be viewed at our office. The Shropshire Star is an ideal candidate for someone looking to start a new business venture or indeed expand on their existing fleet.
